hola...

So I'm pretty new to flickr, and just gett'n warmed up here. bit by bit, i'll be uploading shots i've had the privilege of taking on my recent travels, or rather, over the last 4 or 5 years, which is when i made the switch from the mysterious, patience-required film format to digital, which can instantly make you feel like a rock star when you capture just the right moment.

and though traveling through distant lands and encountering indigenous cultures is my deepest passion, photographing what moves me in the moment is another. it allows me to tangibly express the beauty, the joy, and the range of our experiences that i have the privilege to witness and share while meandering, sometimes purposefully, sometimes serendipitously - and usually joyfully, although occasionally painfully- outside my comfort zone. but even cooler, it bridges the social and cultural barriers between those people i photograph and me. i show them the photos i've taken, and almost invariably people are touched by their own beauty and by the sincere interest taken in them.

I´m currently traveling through South America, so getting photos up is happening very slowly but ever so surely. I invite you to have a look, as well as to comment, criticize, vomit on, or to threaten legal action. Hey, it´s a free world 0_0.
