Watch Your Waste e-Museum is an online platform that seeks to raise awareness of consumption practices, waste management, and environmental protection amongst 12 – 14 year olds. Groups of children from both Jordan and the USA will work within their locales to discover the types of wastes generated by their communities and learn to document it through filming, photography, and storytelling. Children will also be able to discover how the concept of waste and waste management has changed over time, and will be encouraged to interview older members of their communities.
A collaborative project between the Arab American National Museum and the Children’s Museum Jordan, this cultural exchange program is made possible by a grant awarded to both museums by the Museums & Community Collaborations Abroad (MCCA) and the American Association of Museums (AAM), supported by the U.S. Department of State’s Educational and Cultural Affairs Bureau.
We would like to extend an invitation for everyone to watch their waste with us, and share their stories here on Flickr or our other social media channels.
