Graphic designer based in St Leonards on the south coast of England.
I started just putting on photos in order to html them and stick them on MySpace, but since then, I've fallen in love with Flickr. I still don't like taking photos of people, or having my photo taken, or even fiddling around with F-stops and DoF. But I love taking my Flickr photos. I do it in the spirit of Mass Observation, combined with a 1990s zinester ethic... or, in 21st Century language, "a visual blog". Flickr is one of the plus points of living in the 21st century.
I've *really* enjoyed exploring Flickr groups. Favourites include: Dungeness, Channel Hastings, Cuba - todo a lo Cubano, League of the Empty Chair and Seaside Decay. I've found some Flickr friends, and I love seeing their latest photos pop into my contacts box.
My latest Flickr fave is Julia Kay's Portrait Party... all of a sudden, most of my uploads, and most of my Favourites have become drawn rather than photograhic images.
... and I'm STILL bemused as to why any photo tagged with "wellington boot" gets so many hits.
