Erica Gangsei is a sculptor, performer and activist from Brooklyn, NY. Her performances, public interventions and site-specific installations chart the hidden currents of origin and meaning in the physical world. These explorations work to bridge what she sees as a pervasive material disconnect.

Gangsei has exhibited and performed at venues around the San Francisco Bay Area including: The Exploratorium, New Langton Arts, Red Ink Studios, the Garage, Ar+Space, Klimm Gallery, Crissy Field Center at Presidio National Park, The CA Palace of the Legion of Honor, and the Diego Rivera and Swell Galleries at the San Francisco Art Institute. She curated the shows Science Fair Meets World's Fair at the Garage and Craft: Maritime Exploration in Theory & Practice at the San Francisco Art Institute.

She studied Philosophy and Fine Arts at Amherst College in Amherst, MA and received a BFA in Sculpture from the San Francisco Art Institute in May 2006. She lives and works in San Francisco.
