Ephemeral Archive
Drag to set position!
The Ephemeral Archive is a reaction against the dominant museums of our age which exhibit masterpieces to excess. This overwhelming display of high culture in grandiose settings can dilute the impact and meaning of individual artefacts; intimidate the public and act as an egotistic flaunting of a countries cultural acquisitions.
The Ephemeral Archive counters this by presenting the transitory artefacts of the past. With a focus of found letters, cards and photography from the 20th century the archive elevates what is considered worthless and mundane by the prevailing cultural norms to precious relics of history.
