I would describe myself as a improving amateur (I hope I'm improvin!)

I started with a Canon EOS and my first digital was a Canon Powershot G5 ... Although relatively cheap it did allow you to play with all the settings - aperture, shutter speed, ISO - that you have on larger cameras and I really love it and take it everywhere so it has taken a bit of a battering over the last 2 1/2 years as it's been nearly half the way round the world.

I have now graduated to a Canon XTi / 400D and am definitely on the learning curve again. I also have a basic 90 - 300mm zoom. All contained in a LowePro Slingshot 200AW (Get one!!!)

In terms of subjects, I love landscapes and natural shots and I am alway trying to look for those unique and quirky shots especially time lapse or night shots.

I am still a bit wary/ afraid of portraits and posed shots but hopefully improving. That's my aim this year. hence I've being paying a bit more attention to other Flickrati who are amazing at it... (will post a list here soon).

Sort of ascribe to the dogma idea of real photos in natural light and no post processing but probably due to less skill in that area but aim to hopefully improve on these skills in the future. But what this means is that the pictures you see are 100% the pictures I took. No Cropping, No Filtering, No lasso-ing... etc. etc.

My Flickr life began a while back and it started as a simple on-line back up to my slowly accumulating digital shots (hence there are a lot - but hopefully the sets will guide you through the dross that are only really of personal interest. I thought about loading them as private but someone may like them, Flickr is big...).

But slowly the 'borg' has been taking over! Now I regularly add to groups (and even admin a few!), comment and fav photos... I appreciate all the comments I recieve (except for one Troll I experienced early in my Flickr life) and find the constructive ones - formatting, placement etc. incredibly useful.

Basically, I hope you enjoy the pictures here and if you like them, feel free to add yourself as a contact to keep up to date with any new ones.

Make sure you check out my various sets (e.g. Your favorites, My Favorites and Flickr's Interestingness ones) and any feedback is gladly accepted as how else can you get better?

Enjoy.
