My report card in kindergarten stated that I “work well with paper and scissors.” Paper crafts have been a passion throughout my life, and in my adulthood, I have integrated them with my desktop publishing skills to create unique works of art. Recently, I discovered the wonders of Graphtec’s Craft ROBO—a computer-controlled cutting machine for paper, card-stocks, and lightweight plastics. Smaller than a breadbox, this amazing “new toy” helped create many of the models shown in my book, Kirigami, filled with 2- and 3-D papercraft, and origamic architecture. I hope it will save me from X-Acto cuts and wrist fatigue.
I am also the author and designer of TearPlanes, Jewelgami and Bugagami, books that feature unique and beautiful micro-perforated paper with each page.
My latest book, Shadowfolds combines my love of origami and fabric.
