What you need to know:

Flickr limits the visibility of nudity to people with accounts that consent to see Moderate and/or Restricted nudity (see account settings).

Images considered safe are publicly viewable to people without a profile.

Any photos considered Restricted (Full nudity) I choose to limit to accounts that I mark as Friends, as an added layer of privacy to the people in the photos. I consider Friendly accounts to have their own photos, "About" section filled out, and respectful Faves.

About me:

The subject of a portrait is not always a model, I photograph people.

Hi, my name is Andrew and I am a 29-year-old photographer born, raised and living in Melbourne, Australia.

It was three years of inspiration and determination that brought me to 2019 and it being the year I began to explore nude portraiture with my own ideas and camera. After one of my worst panic attacks in late 2018 I knew I had to just throw myself right out of my comfort zone, personally and photographically. It wasn't easy and remains a source of anxiety, so that's why I continue to push myself all while providing respectful and safe photo sessions to anyone looking to free themselves from their comfort zone or the box that society has constrained them to.

Already this experience has built upon my strong moral compass which I have allowed to guide me along the way.

I am incredibly proud of my work and I hope that my photography can go beyond the moment/s in nature! To help other people working with or exploring nudity to share, open up and start a respectful and insightful conversation with family and friends around nudity. That's why my approach aims to be as family-friendly and artistic as possible all while pushing that boundary of what is often considered inappropriate. Nudity shouldn't have to be hidden away, we shouldn't feel ashamed, uncomfortable, guilty or be discriminated against. If we can encourage the response of "Hey, that isn't so bad! or Wow that is beautiful, can we hang one on the wall?" We can slowly bring nudity back into the light of society and out of the dark and dingy corners of the internet.

I do not do provocative, by definition that is: tending or serving to provoke; inciting, stimulating, irritating, or vexing. Around humans and nudity that is dangerous territory and not everyone intends to stimulate or provoke complete strangers, often it is a personal experience. This is portraiture that borders on documentary and art.

Personally, my belief is that positive change around sexism, body image, mental health, mass consumerism and the environment can come from destigmatizing and normalising nudity for men, women, children, old or young and anyone in between.

I have always loved the outdoors and spent lots of time in wild and remote places from a young age. I always dismissed people photography, up until uni where I had really positive experiences around photographing people. Combining people photography with nature has come almost as second nature, I can't imagine photographing people any other way.

You do not have to be a "Model" to be the subject of a photo!

Photo sessions are possible all year long, so don't hesitate to get in touch, even if just for a chat or a hike in nature.

If nothing else, connecting with like-minded people on the same or similar journey is heartwarming and so unbelievably empowering!

Why Flickr:

I grew up with Flickr. Despite never knowing that I would one day work with nudity Flickr has accommodated that change, without hesitation. I feel safe on Flickr, knowing that my account is safe from suspension, my posts are safe from being harshly deleted and that I am not being marginalised and discriminated against.

To support Flickr is to support freedom of choice as a photographer, model or just a viewer!

About my account:

The majority of my personal work is set to "Friends only" as matter of privacy and trust. Most images are publicly visible when I share them with various groups that are of a decent standard. Please sign up to Flickr and/or reach out, ensure Safe Search setting is set to moderate or off, then see my "Photostream"

Here I admin a small group, it is aimed at being a small stepping stone for photographers and models of Aus and NZ wanting to transition to Flickr (mainly from another oppressive "Social" media platform):

www.flickr.com/groups/aus_models_and_photographers_artist...

For more talented photographers deserving of your support on Flickr, see my Faves... It's a bit of a curation of the best within the nude portraiture genre:

Another great group is: flic.kr/go/9fBuq

I can be found on Ig, but I only update that account with "safe" photography and I don't suggest supporting my work there. Forced censorship is not inspiring. There is a phrase: Every time you spend money, you're casting a vote for the kind of world you want.

The same can be said for using Instagram, a place devoid of choice. Every time we use it, we are casting a vote of approval and we are making the problem worse, not better.

Photographically I am a bit all over the place, I have tried most areas now... I have been on Flickr since 2011 and started this separate account to be dedicated to my nude portraiture work and connections.

If you have already seen my photos on Flickr under a different name, you then know who I am.
