I work in IT and photography has turned into a rather expensive outlet of creativity for me, or so says my fiance :D

I have always been keen in photography but it was only since the 'digital age' that it really became accessible to be purely in the practical sense that I wasn't able to get rolls of film developed all the time being only young back then (mid early 90's).

It all started when my mum bought be a digital point & shoot, after 6 months I felt I had seriously outgrown it and moved to a 'prosumer' Fuji S5500 which I kept for a little longer.

After this I bought a Pentax K100D, my first SLR, from within family and kept this for another six months before I stepped up to my current body which is a Canon 40D and I am currently happy :) Perhaps one day I may step up again to the 5D but at the moment the 40 certainly ticks all the boxes.

I am also a keen novice strobist, with a backyard set up of an old Nissin TTL (non adjustable) and a very battle-scarred Nikon SB-25 which is brilliant. My Phottix ebay RF kit has shat itself so at the moment I shoot tethered with a PC sync cord to either the Nissin or Nikon and the other off a very cheap optical slave. I am hoping to correct this and get some better RF gear mid-next year as I've already spent enough on camera gear this year :)
