I live west of Budapest along the Danube river.
I have loved photography for almost 40 years.
Photography is also part of my work, since as a development engineer I not only design machines, I also have to create brochures and publications.
This involves the use of many technical tools (studio flashes, digital technology, photoshop, etc.)
In my hobby photography, however, I like the exact opposite.
Most of the time, I only shoot on film, avoiding any kind of subsequent image manipulation. The picture must be taken on the spot. I choose a film suitable for the subject and use camera-lens filters, reflector sheets and usually 2-3 types of lenses.
Because of the many types of film, I often take 2-3 cameras with me.
I just scanned my developed pictures.
If I have time, I usually develop the black-and-white films myself.
My favorite photo themes:
- Landscapes (the big favorite)
- Interesting shapes (from regular to abstract)
- Buildings with interesting shapes
- And of course my family
My favorite photography films:
Color negative:
- Kodak Portra 400 (the warm colors)
- Kodak Ektar 100 (almost slide film-like appearance)
Black and white:
- Ilford Pan 400 (for contrast)
- Ilford Pan F Plus 50 (the precision)
- Kodak T-Max 100 & 400
Slide Film:
- Fuji Velvia 50 and 100 (the real professional)
- Fuji Provia 100 (slightly more metallic than Velvia)
- Kodak E-100 (I rarely use it, I don't know much about it)
Cameras:
My collection includes all Canon EOS SLRs produced between 1987 and 2004 without exception.
But I usually use the EOS 1V, of which I have 4.
My favorite lenses:
- EF 24-105 (the universality)
- EF 100-400 (also a universal, easy-to-use lens with beautiful colors)
- Sigma 12-24 (nice colors, slightly polarized light filtering)
- Sigma 24 art (mainly for making black-and-white low-light, wide-aperture photos)
