Hi, I am Marsha, creator of Enchanticals. I created the name Enchanticals to describe my creations and the imaginary place which I created, where they first reside before being listed at my Etsy shop, aptly named Enchanticals.

 

Enchanticals is where enchantment resides…along with fantasy, imagination, creativity, magic, mystery, and lore.

Enchantment is always afoot at Enchanticals because enchantment cannot be harnessed, has no rules, and is everywhere.

 

I am a miniaturist, artist in many different mediums, poet, and writer. I am writing a series of children’s books and a field guide on mushrooms. My poetry includes haikus. Shortly, I will be starting lessons in the art of Chinese brush painting. In addition, I am an avid gardener; do Tai Chi; design and make human and doll jewelry; treasure animals and work for their rights (completely non violent); and I create fashion doll dioramas and accessories for them.

 

As an artist, I create in various mediums. However, I prefer to work predominantly in 1:12th scale or miniature dollhouse scale and with furniture which is altered or made by me. I completely furnish each piece with one-of-a-kind handmade detailed items based upon a central theme or character using predominantly found objects.

 

However, my creations are not strictly furniture. I also do love to create 1:12thscale accessories for dollhouses and dioramas or room boxes.

 

My themes run the gamut…from enchanted to fantasy to fairytale to witch to wizard to normal everyday life to horror/spooky.

 

I make my furniture or other miniature creations one piece at a time… from start to finish. There is no assembly line in my workshop. No elves either. For this reason, they are truly one-of a-kind. I keep no written “recipes” for the color or instructions for the items I create to put into/on my furniture.

 

For almost every piece I create, whether it is a piece of furniture or another item, I write, specifically for that piece, an original, “A Little Tale”. My little tales are stories that either tell the personal life history of the previous owner of the piece of furniture or the origins, history or the mystery surrounding an item I created. It is a way for me to bring my creations to life for the audience and also to draw them into and become part of my enchanted little world.

 

I suppose that is why I favor furniture because I am able to create a biography about the person who might have once owned it.

 

My creations are infused and shaped by everything in life, my experiences and memories both past and present, and all which surrounds me: nature, music, art, what I love and my areas of study, books, quotes, fashion, symbols, religions, fairytales, my own imagination, colors, ancient text and languages, my late Mother, my sister, my five kitty babies, and the babies (Cairns, Silky Terrier, and Kitty) who are deceased, my beliefs, and inner dreams.

 

I have many interests, activities, and causes which are reflected in my creations. I love to wander; nature; music; art; the arts; the ballet; fashion; books; quotes; lyrics; being with and playing with my five kitty Babies, who are my children; look for found objects everywhere I go; shop; dolls; miniatures and creating them; studying vet medicine; hangin’ out with my sister who is my best pal; creating doll dioramas; hardware stores; jewelry; art shows and galleries; art; concerts; colors and color theory; traveling to “my” Paris, England, Scotland, and Ireland; fairytales; fantasy; mystery; magic; ancient text and languages; Celtic music; the relativity of time; Sacred geometry; the sea/ocean; gardening; observing and interacting with animals; butterflies (my Sacred Power Animal), birds, and nature; and photography. I am like a sponge. I cannot get enough inside of me.

 

My creations and original tales or stories are my original stories or tales, ideas, and designs. They are not to be copied.
