Mike Fulop is a woodworker whose work breaks the functional mold to let wood show its own true artistic side. Intrinsically furniture straddles the world of art and craft, so it can be a challenge to meld beauty and function. Trained as a fine furniture maker, Mike also works as a woodworking teacher at Core Neighborhood Youth Co-op in Saskatoon, which is a community organization that brings gardening, woodworking and, bicycle building to the core neighborhoods youth. Mike is the 2011 recipient of Excellence in Wood at the 2011 Saskatchewan Craft Counsel juried biennial craft exhibition.
