I once had three cameras. Two digital snapshot thingies, and one holga.
My holga and one of my digital cameras were inside a bag which was stolen from me just minutes before I was attacked by a table and ended up having a male nurse, who also happens to be the leader of the Icelandic anarchist movement, glue my forehead back together.. I couldn't have asked for a better 20th birthday.
After discovering that my bank account had also been emptied out by the aforementioned evil bag-stealer-person, I thought long and hard about world starvation and children living in war-torn zones. Having put things into perspective, I realized how lucky I was that "not having as much money as I did yesterday" and "owning only one camera in stead of three" were my biggest problems.
Now, having lost my third and only camera, it seems to be getting increasingly more difficult to remind myself that "not having a camera" is indeed a very luxurious problem to be dealing with..
Bottom line: I have no camera.
Other bottom line: I have food.
