Emmaus enable people to move on from homelessness, providing work & home in a supportive environment. Companions work collecting and selling donated furniture.

Central to the work of an Emmaus community is helping others. Our founder said 'serve first the one who suffers most'.

The work of the Community centers on the reuse of good quality donated goods including furniture, electrical goods, bric-a-brac, clothes, books etc. We also sell plants & shrubs grown in our nursery garden along with garden furniture, pots and tools. We also run a very successful Community Café which is open to the public Tuesday to Saturday each week.

Emmaus is a secular movement, spanning 36 countries, with 19 Communities in the UK. Each Community aims to become self-supporting, with any surplus donated to others in need.
