You should enjoy this selection, and Emily's work should be seen as the green shoots of what promises to be a fantastic career. At the moment, we can offer her advice. In due course I suspect she could well start showing us how. I like Emily's work, because it is rooted in the real. She doesn't muck around with extreme effects and pass that off as talent. Her work is often domestic, but the angles are crafted and she experiments. She captures moments and expressions as a part of her subject's worlds, whether they are children or kittens. Bearing in mind that she is at an early stage in her career, I don't think her work is unlike that of Sally Mann. Less controversial, but more intimate. Definitely a talent to watch. THe best is yet to come!
