In case you haven't already guessed, my name is Emily Sefcik. I'm currently a student at the University of Virginia. For the past two years, I've been doing chalk signs at Perch Home in Maplewood, New Jersey. Inspired by Dana Tanamachi's chalk work art, and recently obsessed with typography, I'm beginning to branch out and do more hand-lettering of my own.

I specialize in chalk typography, and am hoping to expand my portfolio, doing custom work for events, recurring signs for businesses or wall art in homes. Consider your child's name or favorite story spelled out on their bedroom wall , a favorite recipe lettered on the kitchen wall, or a chalk wedding sign preserved for years to come.

Or, if you own a business, consider what your A-signs, or menus could look like. I'm interested in doing both one-time installations and recurring projects. With any chalk projects, you have the option of spraying it with a protective coating so that it will last for years to come, or maintaing the integrity of the chalk medium itself and leaving it fully erasable.
