Welcome to my playground! As one of my Flickr buddies put it Flickr is a lot like Facebook for photographers. Many of the images here are from my experimenting with software and equipment and just having fun with photography and image editing..

Some of my event and studio shots can be found in my other account over here. If you're looking for an image and can't find it here please check over there or on my blog site markemeryphotography.com.

Thanks Mal!

I started with a box camera as a youngster, had a TLR, Canon T90, Mamiya M645, Canon S400 and now an EOS 40 & 50 dSLR and G11. I've had the photography bug again for a few years, especially liking Teppo's 100 Strangers project which resulted in these images of Zia, one of my favorites from 2008 and Julie from 2009.

When I've not got my head stuck in front of a computer doing image sorting and editing or my "other" job I love to photograph people. Especially at parties where there's a buzz and happy atmosphere, such as the "Great Gatsby Ball".

In his 1980 song "...And Through The Wire" Peter Gabriel sang the line "I talk in pictures not in words". As a 15 year old audio-visually wired person I identified with it the moment I heard it. 30 years on the more I look at the world through both my own photography and that other other photographers the more the words take on a new meaning. I have my photography and music loving father to thank for some of the early paths I took on this adventure through life..

A big "Thanks!" also to all the other Flickr members for sharing their images with the rest of the world. See my growing collection of favorites for the type of images that keep me coming back for more..

A special thanks should go out to Trey Ratcliff. His web site stuckincustoms .com was featured on the BBC News 24 channel in the UK. The HDR work the program showed was so stunning I thought "Now is the time to get my digital SLR!".

As you may guess from my own macro pictures and favourites I *love* smiles, I like the colours green, purple & orange and small creatures like bees and spiders. If you'd like to use any of my animal shots they're available in return for proof of a suitable donation to the RSPCA.

If you'd like to use any of my "City Salute" shots please make a donation to SSAFA. Like wise, for photos of the homeless donations should go to St Martin-in-the-fields.

If I've got a photo of you or your family online and you would rather it no longer be public any more please let me know.

If you'd like a print of any of my images for your wall or some other use just ask, most will be available. Please indicate if it is for commercial or non-commercial use.

WARNING: If you're on Flickr only to collect (fave) thousands of photos from other people, while having an empty profile and photostream yourself, there is a strong possibility of me blocking you if you fave my work.

If you're doing it for commercial reasons come out of hiding and update your profile with some details, better still set up a group and invite the photos, letting people know why the group exists.

I don't as a rule do comments for comments, but it may look that way because your comment tells me you've been online recently and may have new images up. If I comment on one of your photos don't feel you have to return the favour. I'd rather you comment because you like the images or text with it.

To get in touch use Flickr mail if you have an account (It's free, only takes a few mins to sign up) or visit markemeryphotography.com and go to the contact page.

Mark is a one-of a kind person who if you are lucky your paths will cross, and if you are very lucky you will become friends with. I am glad to be of the latter group. :-) I would also like to note Mark's awareness of charity as there have been many times when he has posted a photo and gone the lengths to give you a link to the cause should you be moved to donate. As far as Mark Emery Photography: Mark has the skill and the gear to back up any project which he would want to take on. He has many years of photography, and has mastered lighting. His experience with Medium format and film should go a long way towards the understanding that Mark Emery isn't some hobbyist who decided one day to pick up a digital camera, he has evolved with the art, and has followed in the footsteps of his father. I could go on for days about Mark's work, and photography, but if you haven't already explored the depths of his photo stream, go ahead and spare my fingers the typing.
