Sarah Butterworth - Artist - Workshop Leader - Creator of Giants -

What you see here is a collection of my artwork stretching from now back to the dim and distant past of 1994. Amongst it are treasures created by children in my workshops, or collaborations with other artists.

Having worked under the name Emerald Ant for 7 years, I recently gathered together kindred souls to form a Community Interest Company, "dedicated to engaging family audiences in their local history and heritage through exciting art and giant spectacle".

Emerald Ant's most well known project is Horace the Travelling Pliosaur Cinema. Horace was created in 2012 and has toured the UK since, performing at Glastonbury Festival, Larmer Tree, Latitude, as well as Lyme Regis and Yorkshire Fossil Festivals, and the Horniman Museum in London. He has been described as "immersive street theatre at it's very best" (www.festivalkidz.com).

We have a commitment to working with children and young people and run challenging projects and workshops in schools, such as building large scale work outdoors, working on historical sites and linking internationally with schools overseas.

Emerald Ant has created work for The National Trust, Dorset and Somerset Wildlife Trusts, Activate Performing Arts, the RSPB, Somerset Art Works, Eden Project, Forkbeard Fantasy, carnivals and lantern processions in Dorset, London, Oxford and elsewhere.

....Meanwhile, in the lab, dreams and explorations continue -
