I finally took the plunge and decided to upgrade to a Pro account on Flickr. I seem to have photos all over the place and it really makes sense to keep them all in one place -- so hopefully I will be able to track them down from all over the internet and load them up here, including consolidating my various flickr accounts into just this one. Do you have any idea what a pain this is?

About my Photography

It took me a long time to capitulate to the digital world as far as cameras go and I finally bought my first REAL digital camera last year before my trip to Disneyworld. It is a Sony DSC-N1 with 8.1 megapixels and I really love it. I have no idea why I waited so long.

I also really love Polaroid and have several Polaroid cameras -- a time zero, your standard one step, a pinhole polaroid camera, polaroid back for the Holga and a Polaroid SLR 690. I'll continue to use them all as long as Polaroid or Fuji or somebody continues to make film for them.

I also have a couple of Holgas, but mostly I use them with the Polaroid back. I rarely bother with 120 film because I like instant gratification.

Additionally, I have a very crappy camera on my Sidekick phone, but before I bought my Sony it got used a lot to document my road trip in 2005 and my random wanderings around Boston.

I don't consider myself an artist, mostly because I'm a bit too impatien with the trigger finger. I tend to do a lot of snapshots. Working with the Holga and the Polaroid back though does a lot to help slow me down so most of the photos I'm really proud of tend to be Holgaroids. I am trying to slow down with the digicam and take more purposeful shots and I believe I'm starting to get somewhere with that.

A lot of my photos are taken to document my day to day life, my travels, etc. and that's why you'll sometimes find my comments on the photos are very long. A picture may speak a 1000 words, but a picture with a 1000 words tacked onto it is even better! :)
