As both a cultural geographer and photographer, I am drawn to the beauty and wonder of everyday landscapes, buildings, and objects. Every place, location, or region reflects the history and culture behind it’s creation and of the value and importance once placed on them.
I hope my photographs will evoke memories, questions, and a curiosity of what these places are and may have been. And that, while these images were taken at fixed points in time, they also remind us of Heraclitus’ observation:
“All is in flux, nothing stays still.”

Le futur ne peut pas être vivant sans racines profondes. C'est ce que cette galerie nous rappelle. For a European, this gallery is a strange world, without a past, a bit extraterrestrial. A harsh, hard, but beautiful and meaningful world: Life is a challenge, a conquest over adversity and at the same time a nostalgia, a respect for the past. A reminder that nature, the past of men, is part of our present and enriches it. Our future depends on our respect for our entire past. The future cannot be alive without deep roots. That's what this gallery reminds us of.
