Elton McAleer was born in Cambridge, England in 1971, and he began shooting with an Olympus OM2 at the age of 14. His passion for all things colourful can be traced back to the start of his career in graphic arts as a retoucher/scanner operator in 1992. As Digital Production Manager for Getty Images in London he developed an extensive understanding of colour management, implementing many of the standards for colour reproduction that are still in use today. Since moving to New Zealand in 2005 he has provided colour consultancy to NZ’s leading ad agencies and printing companies. His recent achievements include the Olaf Peterson Trophy for Best Landscape Image, and Gurushots ‘Top Photographer’ (Sunrise and Sunset). Elton is married with two young boys and lives in Glen Eden, Auckland.
