OK, I know him not so long, but I learned two facts: 1. He associates lovely, beautiful or weird photos with very funny underlines or headlines! 2. He always posts nice and individual comments to every photo! Thank you for your support and for being such a great Flickr Friend!

This has been a long time coming. I have known Joe for a couple of years now and have been lazy about writing a testimonial to him. One of the funny things about him is his love of the republican party. He loves to create a little controversy just to get people all fired up. I have never let it bother me as I know he is really a funny kind of guy. I first met him with his great macro photos of birds with the most phenomenal dof. This is part of our ongoing joke. He actually came to my city with his beautiful wife Lila, but alas the government would not allow him out of their sight for fear of his right wing ideals. I think he rocked the ship on his cruise too. I am really surprised that Lila lets him get away with his babe stuff and that wandering eye. He has never left me with the thought of why do I like him. I always enjoy his remarks and candid humour. What I don't care for is that he has Sarah Palin in every room of his house. I'll make sure when I have the hiccups to go to his place to rid myself of them....haha One day we will meet in person if the border patrol lets either of us in to the others country unrestricted. Now that I have written you a testimonial Joe, I can expect that check in the mail....right? Have a great day now and forever Dude. Give Lila a hug from me...just don't squeeze her too hard.

Joe was one of my original contacts shortly after I first joined Flickr over a year ago. His work has been very inspiring and evokes emotion in everything he does. He is one of the most down-to-Earth people I have met on Flickr and on this planet. I wish him the best as I enjoy his ever developing best.

I too have evolved to use less groups more selective in contacts inspired by his outlook. i don't have that many followers but treasure the quality of the few that evolve to friends. Thanks for knowing you

Birdman of El Paso, what to say ......... Joe, hmmm, Joe is a straight shooter & there is no pussy footing around in his corner that is for sure !! I look forward to his daily posting which will inevitably have a commentary just as interesting as the photo itself. It's not unusual to find some very healthy debate going on around his photo or comment ... I love his sense of humour & especially his label "SOOP" - I have found all of his photos to be interesting & of the highest quality. Joe often takes the time to visit my own photostream & always leaves a comment which is usually very encouraging for me. He is also not afraid to give me a good "kick up the bum" if I haven't posted anything for a while (& it usually works, doesn't it Joe) A wonderfully, true Flickr friend. Joe, you crack me up mate !! Go on, do yourself a real favour & browse through Joe's photostream - I guarantee you wont be sorry you did !!

One of the first groups I joined when I started on Flickr was called El Paso Joe's Place. I had no idea how Flickr worked and after I joined, I noticed a message thread with people thanking Joe for their invites. I thought, "ut oh, I didn't get an invite.." Now what to do? Ha.. I wrote Joe and asked him if it was okay that I had joined w/o an invite? I'm sure he had a laugh over it.. That was Sept 2006. Time has really gone by and I'm still a big fan of Joe's place. I would marvel at the shots Joe shared of his many birds. I also admired how Joe didn't care about all the fluff stuff on Flickr. Joe is the kind of guy that if you want a straight answer, he's the one to ask. I have really enjoyed following Joe on his trips to Alaska and the photo journeys he takes. He's been a great Flickr friend. Someone I'd really like to shake hands with and take to lunch and talk about life with. He's been a great photo mentor and I look forward to every shot he posts. Thanks Joe for the different groups you have, I've always felt welcome. You're the real deal. Thanks Joe..
