Decided to update my profile. Some things are very much the same as I wrote a year ago and many things are very different!

First, I would like to say how in "awe" I am of so many of the photographers I have seen & met on Flickr. There are so many indescribably beautiful & expressive images here. Kudos to all of you. I am a fan!

I am a neophyte in this world of photography. I have not (obviously) had any formal training or practice. I have always had an interest of some sort - I have collected vintage cameras now for 5 or 6 years - have always been the family & friends documentarian - keeper of the family photos, etc. But, I have only in the last year started taking photography seriously - with intent to combine and express my knowledge of pattern, shape, texture, line, form, color and light. And, I must admit that I am so completely obsessed.

After a year on flickr I have better defined who I am and what it is I want to express. I still don't execute to my satisfaction but I know that it is coming . . . I can feel it.

In the meantime, I struggle for a balance for expressing my vision of life emotionally, artistically and meaningfully AND for making this passion commercially viable.

My dream includes having my floral images draped large across a huge museum wall. My teeny little spaces between the petals enlarged, encompassing and vast . . . Can you tell I am greatly influenced by Georgia O'Keeffe and Mark Rothko? Well, I know that is very unlikely but it is my dream. And, the meantime, I will keep shooting and practicing until I get it right!!

Enough about me for now . . . need to get back to my home page . . . know that you are all out there uploading . . . and I need my flickr fix!
