Since 1989, Elijah’s Promise has used food as a tool to alleviate hunger, empower lives and invite justice for the most vulnerable members of our Central New Jersey community. We operate a soup kitchen, culinary arts school, catering business and café, and connect low-income individuals and families with social and health services. With the support of volunteers, donors and community partners, we serve more than 100,000 meals per year and train previously unskilled workers for careers in the food services industry.
.
Through our work, Elijah’s Promise strives to break the cycle of poverty in our community. We envision a community where no one goes hungry for lack of food or funds; where a good meal is a nutritious meal; where we steward our natural and fiscal resources wisely; and where we make opportunity available to those who seek it.
