First of all Thank You if you comment or fav any of my attempts at creativity.

Jumped back into manual photography Xmas 2012 on a whim, learning quickly how to mate world of vintage lenses and modern DSLR's . Have developed a slight case of LBA, but total spent is still under a mid priced Canon or Nikon superama, plus it's fun.

There are billions of "snap shots" on the web, but I think that shooting manually forces you to take photographs or at least give shots more consideration. Having said that the learning curve back into shooting manually requires much patience and many, many shots. Which is the bonus of the marriage between vintage lenses and digital cameras.

Originally I had chosen the Sony NEX but I liked the feeling of holding a larger camera body. The Sony A37 fit the bill best as it was entry level, great price point and slightly smaller than most DSLR's because of Sony's translucent mirror technology, plus it had functions that would aid manual shooting with vintage lenses.

Excellent compatibility with M42 mount lenses, Focus Peaking and Live View. Especially helpful for this middle aged guy whose eye sight is not what it used to be.

Cheers
