Thank you Flickr for this amazing, inspirational and ingenious website. I am meeting people everyday who share their passion for life, living and humanity through their creative body of work.

Forever a student, I thank all of you for your lessons.

Elaine is a wonderful photographer, a gracious and kind human being and a most extraordinary mother. Though meeting her in person would no doubt be a great thrill, having "virtually" crossed paths with her here at flickr might have to be enough.

I met Elaine in 1978 in San Francisco and we have not seen each other since. Imagine. Elaine has kept in touch through her photography... a very long time to have been continually inspired by the most talented photographer I have witnessed in my lifetime. Through her photographs I have seen her children's enchanting faces grow up from infants to young adults. I have seen the spontaneity of street merchants from California to China. I have seen exquisite professional models, and celebrities caught off guard. I have been a distant, fascinated, clandestine witness to the beautiful and mesmerizing world of Elaine Lee. I still remember, nearly thirty years ago, Elaine stopping my car near the Golden Gate bridge to catch the sun going down. Her urgency moved me to action as though there would be no other sundowns than that one so many years ago. After all this time she has not lost that passion. It has intensified through a vision and maturity that is brilliantly her own.
