The Paul N. Elbin Library at West Liberty University is named in honor of the institution's president from 1935 to 1970. The library's collection consists of more than 190,000 print volumes, 350 hard copy periodicals and newspapers, tens of thousands of online periodicals via databases, and a growing selection of both audio and video titles.

On the second floor of the library, you will find the special collections. The special collections include the Nelle M. Krise Rare Book Room, which features books and artifacts tracing the history of the printed word, and the West Liberty Archives, which is a collection of material related to the university and town of West Liberty. Items in the archives date back to the mid-19th century when West Liberty was just beginning to grow as a town.

The goal of the Archives Digitization Initiative is to offer digitized versions of the archival holdings at West Liberty University in order to provide a broader access to the materials in the collections. Although the project is still in the preliminary stages, the Elbin Library staff is working hard to offer extended versions of its digital holdings.
