Ela Barton is originally Los Angeles, CA. She learned basics of Photoshop and Illustrator in high school and was helped in improving those skills while obtaining her AAS in Digital Apparel Production at Art Institute California Design College. After graduation, she was part of team that created a large-run, screenprinting and urban fashion label called, "Soul Control" clothing. When the business failed, Barton continued to pursue freelance design work in production of flyers, custom-screen tees and business cards.
Currently, she is a spoken-word poet, dedicated to helping the community through design and web-building. With her current knowledge and help from "Building a Website for Dummies" she created a Seattle Writing Community, available at www.findtimetowrite.com, has designed chapbook covers for Seattle Nationals Team-Member, Maya Hersh, and other popular poets like Sarah Sapienza, Cowboy Cass Hodges and Jennifer Pritchard. She has created flyers for the Seattle Poetry Slam, Youth Speaks Seattle and surrounding Open Mics venues in the area.
She has created the logo for Marc Mapile, a hairstylist based out Los Angeles, CA (www.marcmapile.com), the logo and select designs for the urban streetwear brand, ChicharonAdventures (www.chicharonadventures.com), and many other projects seen in this album.
