My interest in photography began with the desire to record my travel adventures. I used a little point and shoot digital camera and loved every second. The later discovery of my mother's Minolta 35mm camera ignited my passion for film photography. I still consider those early photographs to be my most authentic; purely for my own interests and desires.

My current work has diverged from my early documentary style with my focus shifted to portraiture. Much of my current work is also technique driven. I've come to appreciate the unpredictable element that working with non-conventional techniques introduces. I also feel I'm able to achieve a much greater form of expression, which is something I had been seeking from the beginning.

The choice to stick with film is an obvious one to me. The process is much more rewarding in every aspect. A good photograph captured on film is more valuable in my mind than a good photograph, captured digitally, that is made great through post-processing. Plus film cameras are incredibly cool!
