A native New Yorker, I trained as a biomedical researcher, but I have always been caught between the two halves of my brain--the analytical and the creative. I now balance my life between a research-related job not in the lab, and a full life creating outside of that. I resisted photography for many years, thinking it was a "cold" medium compared to drawing with charcoal and working in clay, for example--what a fool I was! Admittedly, it was really the immediate gratification of digital photography that opened the door for me to do more than "family photos," but I am so grateful for that. So, scientist, artist, and now amateur photographer--and loving it!
