We offer you beautiful antiques and full service from your order to the delivery of the item. Antiques will be delivered in an optimal state at the destination you require. At your request and preference, non-restored items can also be delivered as is. Restoration of items is done in the most careful and meticulous way to ensure that appearance and value of the items are retained. For some non-restored items we will consider special requests to customize their restoration. We'll be happy to assist you in finding specific antique items that you desire.

In cases where the option for re-upholstery is offered, we kindly ask that you contact us to discuss your design needs and options.

Conservative Restoration

It is important for us to inform you that we do conservative restoration. This means that we add parts, where necessary, and do not subtract material, unless absolutely warranted, as in, case locks that do not work and cannot be repaired; handles or feet that are missing or completely worn out. Restoration is done in a traditional way, using traditional processes. In some cases, the site may have pictures of items that are not yet in a restored state as well as illustrations of the restoration process.

 

The RESTORATION techniques that have been applied are traditional, manual or mechanical, but not electrical. We use natural animal glue, made from fish, or rabbit and we use natural French polish, dissolved in 99% of alcohol, applied with a tampon by hand. Only in exceptional cases, where it is really necessary to reinforce the construction, are modern products used. We put the utmost care in the restoration, using traditional materials.
