i've been working towards a professional career in travel photography by choosing a path i believe to be my own - moving back and forth between new places and old while traveling to some of the most beautiful heavens on earth.
i'm mainly self taught, even though i minored in photography in college. studying photographer's work was never my thing and i think i did this in order to develop my own style. flickr has been in my life since October 2006 and the inspiration it gives me is constantly growing... i love it and am having a blast exchanging images with other artists. i appreciate the beautiful work out there as well as the encouraging comments.
my primary equipment is a Nikon F100 18-35mm lens - velvia slide, fuji professional color and ilford black and white film. i'm slowly making the switch to medium format (Mamiya) and i can't believe it's taken me this long to step it up. i can't put into words how this transition is inspiring me but a part of me feels like i haven't even begun yet. i do not digitally manipulate and have been working with film for 15 years. digital is fun and it's cool to have an immediate medium at times, but i still swear by fujichrome and probably always will...

I found Emily Drazen as flickr’s contact and enjoy very much her photostream. I can see the world through her work as she is travel photography. Here is her quote that I reconfirm is right “Emily captures the nobility of the human spirit, the grandeur of land and seascapes, and outstanding skies that surpass the everyday. Above all else, she endeavors to find the simple, unadorned truth in things.”
