EDiversity was founded by a dedicated group of Hong Kong parents who are concerned about the education of children in the territory. We believe that children's needs and family life, and the real purpose of education itself have been negatively influenced by rigid and stressful learning requirements, which is mostly enabled, at home and at school, by adults' over emphasis on examination results and excessive expectation which disregards children's ability and needs.

We first came together as a loose group with a desire to hold a conference that aims to spark rethinking on education. This has led to the setting up of EDiversity, giving our group a name and necessary formality to liaise with other bodies.

We want to put forward education ideas well accepted internationally but little known or misunderstood here, and help all education stakeholders make sensible and flexible educational choices that can address our youth's present and future needs.

We are doing this for the love of our children and families, and our home Hong Kong. We want our children to be members of a more harmonious, healthy, capable and sustainable population.

Our Aim

We hope to promote diversity in education in Hong Kong, especially among school-age children, that is characterized by choice and catering for individual abilities, potential and needs.

We hope to enable a more desirable learning culture in Hong Kong that is free of meaningless drilling and examinations, through encouraging rethinking of education by providing the latest education information from around the world.
