When I'm hoping to create the appearance of an unexpected convergence, I usually work backward. Instead of trying to discover that perfect harmony fully assembled, I begin with one unusual condition... My success rate is not very high, but when I do orchestrate a coincidence of light and form by combining my own efforts with the luck of the draw, I feel incredibly well rewarded. Because I pursue this kind of photography, I have been able to witness many extraordinary moments that I would not otherwise have seen.
