About Myself (ISO_rigami)

As a professor at Reutlingen University, I use origami exercises to teach my students various theoretical and practical aspects of the engineering sciences. My special interest lies in 3D modular origami design based on the silver rectangle paper formats from the ISO 216 series, in particular A4. Unless attributed to others, all modules and modular objects presented on this page are, to the best of my knowledge, my original designs or my own ISO A variants of known entities.

Projects

My main project (acronym: ZEBRA) is the development of a massively heteromodular origami technique for constructing large framework structures and kinematic linkages on a scale up to several meters from A4 sheets. The modular objects shown here were mostly created using custom graphic designs printed on 100 g/m² offset paper. Standard white 100 g/m² A4 printer paper was used for all interior modules that are not visible from the outside.

Ground rules

* Only ISO 216 paper formats

* No cutting

* No glueing

* No other tools than a bone folder

* If a rule stands in the way of progress, break it.
