The Plight and Promise of Africa: An Eckerd College Initiative will raise Africa's profile through academic study, activism and community consciousness. From January to December 2010, Eckerd College will seek to engage its campus members and the residents of Tampa Bay in classroom discussion and public dialogue about Africa – a complex continent that affects our global conscience.
