We are builders. Since 1983 we have been building custom designed houses and decks. We understand what customers want and we know how to deliver customer satisfaction.
In 1997, a customer wanted a deck of Brazilian hardwood. Nails could not penetrate the wood, yet the customer wanted no visible fasteners to be used. None of the existing systems provided the quality he was looking for, so we created our own.
We patented the design of EB-TY® Hidden Deck Fasteners TM and have been using them ever since, because we want to build safer and more beautiful decks for our customers.
Before, when we used nails or screws to build a deck, after a short time the deck would creak whenever someone walked on it. Nails and screws would pop up as the weather changed or the deck was no longer new. Nails and screws rust and allow moisture to seep in causing damage to the decking material. No matter how carefully we worked, we could not ensure there would be no unsightly pop-ups and splinters that would become safety hazards. Our award-winning fasteners come in a size to work with every type of decking material from hardwoods and Ipe to composites. Click here to see the EB-TY® Hidden Deck Fastener TM Product List.
Our system is based on common tongue-and-groove flooring. The EB-TY® Hidden Deck-Fastening System TM is an oval device made of polypropylene simply hooks into slots at the edge of the deck boards where they cross a joist. The process assures that the boards will be more evenly spaced thus eliminating drainage problems.
Deck boards have grooves cut into their sides and the EB-TY acts like a tongue, simultaneously spacing the boards and holding them down. EB-TY will not rust or shrink. Even at temperatures over 200 degrees F, EB-TY will neither crack nor soften. Given its approximated life span of 100 years, the fastener saves the homeowner money on deck repair.
Our company, Blue Heron Enterprises, LLC is located in central New Jersey, which is where we manufacture our EB-TY Hidden Deck Fasteners. Give us a call or email us if you have any questions or would like to tell us about how are products work for you.
