I thought I would follow the lead of a couple of my contacts, and list the equipment I use. The mechanics of both cameras and guns interest me (my Mechanical Engineer side), but generally I stick to cameras, as there are fewer legal restrictions and gray areas with cameras than guns. Of course, the equipment is only one aspect of the photographer, and to a point the least important. I'm an opportunistic accumulator; some of this stuff has been given to me, some of this stuff was included with other things I've bought, and some has been intentionally purchased.

 

As we say in hard-core bicycling, it isn't about the bike- it's the motor that makes the difference. Likewise in photography, it isn't the camera, it's the artist. I shoot things that amuse me or pique my interest in other ways. I'm especially interested in historical scenes, especially in the interactions of man and nature.
