Clarification for my screen name-

Easy Goer-Two year old champion, Belmont Stakes Champion. Racing Hall of Famer.

Now a little story....

Somewhere in the great blue heavens... Easy Goer is harassing Sunday Silence into giving him one more rematch. His mind keeps replaying Tom Durkin's stretch call in which they both concluded one of the best rivalries in racing history.

Like gladiators, they attempt to relive the glory of past meetings such as the 1989 Preakness....In which Sunday Silence barely won by mere inches thus draping Black Eyed Susans over the Black colt 's shoulders where roses draped only two weeks prior.

Easy Goer, not consoled by the early round knock out of Sunday Silence in the Belmont Stakes, salivated over the opportunity to even the record with his rival in the 1989 Breeder's Cup Classic. Sunday Silence, demoralized by losing his prep race to a turf horse named Prized, looked prime for the taking. It was not to be however, as Sunday Silence was able to take advantage of Easy Goer's slow start and withstood his final acceleration to win by that ever so shrinking "desperate neck".

So now, Easy Goer and Sunday Silence stand in the heavens bickering about the distance and the track for this heavenly rematch. Easy Goer declares, "Belmont Park at a mile and a half". Sunday Silence laughs at him and counters, " I call the shots, and absolutely not! Santa Anita at a mile and a quarter." Easy Goer inquires, "Cushion track or Dirt?" To wit, Sunday Silence slaps him with his right front hoof and mockingly states "You idiot! Dirt of course and what the heck is cushion track?"

Upon agreeing to the terms they canter over to the starting gate at Santa Anita. Sunday Silence looks over to Easy Goer and states "On the count of three" .....One.....Two.." At which point Easy Goer screams "THREE!" and they both take off for one last epic race... The end result? Only God knows :)
