I first became interested in photography, my first camera was a Polaroid which used 600 film, I still have it. I also had access to my parents' old school Canon AE film SLR which unfortunitely lost. We replaced that Canon AE with a Canon EOS 500N, this is where I finally got to understand shutter speeds and apertures. My first entrance to the digital age was with an Olympus CZ-740 it is an amazing camera for what it is, 4 megapixel with 10x optical zoom. I finally took the plunge and got myself a Canon 40D in April 2008 (Bought a 5D MkII in April 2009 and part ex my 40D for a 7D in December 2010). A month later I bought myself a 70-200mm f/2.8L IS as I was always obsessed with sports photography. Then came along a nifty-fifty. But I think the barguin has to be part exchanging my EF-s 17-85 f/4-5.6 for a 24-105mm f/4L and just paying £385. That's me really an amateur.
