I am new to the ideal of capturing moments from an iphone and it is quickly becoming a part of my life, like a new limb. Outside of miscellaneous uploads to facebook I am actually quite new to the practice of taking still photography with a purpose (to the point I had to research best digital hosting sites)...including any aspects of post processing (of which I knew very little). At the time of this writing (8/21/2010) it has been going strong for exactly one week. I had the happy accident of running into an article while installing a news app on my iphone called "10 Incredible iPhone Portrait Photographs" ( Link ) which really turned me onto the idea of what the iphone was capable of.
You see, I love the idea of complicated simplicity, and taking and editing from an iphone I can grab shots of life and the world before they have the chance to run away. I've come to embrace the run and gun form and it's really helped harden my eye for moments that would have otherwise slipped my attention. I now prowl the streets like a gunslinger with my phone in my pocket. I am getting quicker on my draw, and I think my mind is starting to wrap around the post processing hop scotch I pull from within the iphone .
Ive been dipping my toes in the water for a week now and the waters warm. Time for week two.
Note: I tend to note detailed info about how i process my photographs for reference later and also if someone sees something they like they know what I used!
