Darren's photography is pretty average, sometimes he gets lucky and a shot falls into his lap. Mostly he points his camera up the corner of tall buildings. I stopped following him as I got a little cheesed off that even his most mundane shots kept getting explored. However, Darren participates in lots of groups, works hard making groups fun and active. He also has a talent for writing, he makes the best analogies. His polite manner is inspiring, I think it maybe rubbing off on me, hence my testimonial.

Darren is a creative genius. He taught me to me look up and find beauty in the most unassuming places and taught me to see the abundance in the most minimalist aspects. His work is inspiring and an institution. His personality even more grand - full of awesome sense of humor, sharp wit, friendly disposition and so much creativity. With his camera he can transform an everyday object into a form of Art that leaves you thinking "hmm.. why didn’t I see that?” He is very supportive, encouraging and the first to help, assist a fellow flickr member. He is a huge asset to the Flickr Community and I am so lucky to be a student of his talent and call him my mentor and a friend.

I first met Darren years ago during a family trip to Hawaii where we unearthed an ancient tiki idol at a construction site - no wait, that's the Brady Bunch. Simply put, Darren has an innate eye for composition. His bare minimalism packs as much punch as his tumultuous seascapes, and this is something you either have, or you don't - clearly Darren has it in droves. What I personally find scrumptious about Darren's pieces are his use of tones and colours during post processing. I'm a sucker for pretty colours and it further showcases Darren's versatility as well as his skill. Aside from the above, Darren's really the only one that gets my humour in the HF - and that my international friends, goes along way...

Darren is a joy to have as a Flickr-friend! He has a way of bringing our the best qualities in any subject, whether it be a simple brick wall or an expression on someone's face as they walk down the street. He finds wonderful light and it seems to find him wherever he goes. I also enjoy that he includes his family in the photos on his stream. And their dog Roxy a.k.a. Wooja is just precious. He treats people well and I always appreciate his visits to my stream. There is a delightful energy to Darren and his work that I really enjoy!

It is an honor to be the first to write Darren a testimonial - even though when he eventually gets his pageful (as he should) it means mine'll be down at the bottom of the heap. But that's ok. ;) He has a talent for making the (otherwise) mundane beautiful and interesting. It's a thrill to see the world through his lens. He also happens to be a pretty cool guy. Unpretentious, friendly, and totally unfazed by his well-deserved popularity. Oh - and, he has the absolute *cutest* [non-Jack Russell/Pug] ;) dog this side of anywhere.
