My goal is to write for you the unwritten story of Georgia and the South. I want to show you those places that are long forgotten, and I hope make their stories known. Like many others, I would like to raise awareness about these places in hopes they will be preserved for future generations.
"One 'secret' is not even the photograph. It is research, the determination to see a certain place, and the untold miles, gas, and time of just getting there." - Rodney Harvey
"The South is a beautiful place. Its a shame so many people are blind to the everyday beauty that can be found in the common, the old, the weathered. Life lived is worth documenting. Buildings age with dignity. They are alive to me and contain a soul, I take portraits of them." - Evan Leavitt
"I believe my images ought to tell a story with as little interference as possible. And, for me, there is always a story. I find photography the ultimate story-telling medium... without using words. Each photo can and ought to stand alone; each viewer can, and should, find his own story there - a story which may be completely different from what I see." - Wes Stone
About me.....I'm a husband, father, reader, listener. I like to explore both rural and urban places. I tend to be more documentarian than artistic (as I've never had any formal training in phtography). I like the Foo Fighters, southern food, and UGA football.
Some of my photos have been featured in: Historic Rural Churches of Georgia book and website, Georgia Backroads magazine, Boston Architecture magazine, Garden and Gun, Explore Georgia-Travel and Tourism magazine, Georgia EMC Magazine, SaportaReport, The Christians book cover, A Lovely Crisis album cover, Shoemaker Gospel album cover, United Methodist News magazine, Purification Heritage Center restoration project, Quinlan Visual Arts winter exhibition, Georgia Humanities art exhibition, and the Carter Center art exhibition.
The two cameras I use the most are my Olympus OM-D E-M10 and Holga 120N.
