K1000. My dad taught me how to take my first pictures when I was 10. Saved the day at my aunt's wedding by taking several rolls of pictures at her wedding. The hired professional photographer ruined all of his negatives.
Pentax LX. Took my first photography class in college with this camera. Got it in me that I was getting pretty good. After graduating, found little time to take pictures while pursuing a career in information systems and island-hopping in Indonesia. The camera is in some dark closet collecting mold.
Olympus Stylus. Found this small point-and-shoot a practical camera to carry around as I travelled for work.
Minolta DimageX. Joined the digital world and took mediocre snapshots.
Nikon D50. Had kids and realized significant events were lost in low-resolution images. Bought my first DSLR to preserve these moments.
Flickr. While doing research for my brother who was looking into putting up a photoblog, I reopened my free Flickr account that was dormant for 2 years. Found the DCist pool and was blown away at the images taken by the local DC photogs and set off to learn from their captures and take better pictures. Flickr is where I document my attempts, imitations, experiments and progress.
Street Photography. What I'd like to be good at. Still working on it.
