The Deep South Center for Occupational Health & Safety

Our Center is one of 17 Education and Research Centers sponsored by the National

Institute for Occupational Safety and Health. With academic collaboration

through the state of Alabama’s top universities, our Center offers rigorous

studies to prepare students for careers as practicing professionals or

researchers in occupational safety and health. Our graduate programs include:

 

In addition to our academic programs, our Center supports research opportunities

through our Dillon – Carnahan Pilot Project Research Program. The Center’s

Continuing Education & Hazardous Substances Training Programs provide learning

experiences for practitioners through a variety of courses, seminars and

symposia. Our Outreach Program has a dynamic approach to sharing information on

work-related injuries and illnesses. Through our Diversity Program minority

students are told of exciting and fulfilling careers in occupational and

environmental health and safety.
