Knowledge Exchange Partnership
This Knowledge Exchange Partnership (KEP) addresses age and occupational related assisted living problems by identifying the need for early design interventions to reduce the effects of poor ergonomics on the population as it ages. The scope of this KEP is multifaceted due to the nature of the requirements of the target population. This can be in relation to health, hospital/home care, well-being, human rights and personal dignity. The proposition, summarised by four over arching themes, is that effective and well implemented ergonomic product design enhanced and informed by high level medical research, can have a positive effect and lead to successful ageing.
The identified themes are:
*Design for Assisted Living
*Psychology of Design Interventions
*Design for Clinical Engineering
*Ergonomic Evaluation
