Please consider buying me a Pro account (mine lapsed & the global financial crisis has hit me hard!)
got my fujifilm S5100 in november 2004 and fell in love with taking photos. not being trained, i tend to point and shoot... people, places, funny faces, it's all fair game. to quote tera leigh, "Compulsive need to document life around me." there is something magical about getting someone to smile for the camera. i've never studied photography, so have a lot to learn about the tools and the craft. but i've learned a lot through flickr ....and have been hugely inspired too... there are some AMAZING photographers in here! i estimate i take between 30K and 40K shots a year (depending on how much i get to travel).
what i really crave, besides world peace, is a wide angle lens. and one of those massive telephotos (like you see at major sporting events). but i will be patient, and will wait until i get an SLR. one day. mmmmm......
[08-08-08....auspicious day indeed! a friend lent me her Nikon D200, so i've got a camera with a bounce flash, for my first wedding gig next Saturday! v excited]
the root of amateur is 'to love.' i'm a drummer too. music is my passion. and i'm an expat... which makes me wonder frequently: where is home now? favorite charity is oxfam. i am always in search of the light. and a deeper love.
if you would, please take a minute to read about my best friend, jerry tang, who went missing on nov 29, 2005, from his home in san francisco. if you know anyone in SF area, pls pass it on. the more eyes on the lookout for him, the better:
