I grew up in Brussels and lived in the USA where I finished my studies in music. I was 12 when I received my first photo camera. Few years later, my father offered me a reflex camera and since then, photography became one of my main hobbies.

I started with a Yashica FX3, using manual focus primes and manual exposure. In the mid--90's, I moved to a Canon EOS 500 which I enjoyed using for more than 10 years. I missed the excellent Yashica viewfinder - great for manual focus - but had instead a excellent zoom with a fast and silent autofocus.

With the arrival of digital cameras, I decided to stay with my film camera, mainly because I didn't like the digital look of the pictures. But, as digital cameras were improving, I decided to get a small compact camera (lx2 then lx3) to see how I could deal with digital photography, still using my Canon film reflex when I travelled.

When I decided to move to a more serious digital camera, I was interested in a full-frame reflex, but chose the much smaller and enjoyable micro four-third system, starting with an Olympus E-P2, and now the E-P5.

I chose immediately to work with high quality prime lenses to get full potential of my camera, both native lenses and, more recently, old lenses as well such as Yashica ML and Minolta.

I take often pictures of people but they are not on my Flickr photostream. Instead, you'll find here pictures of landscapes, places or events.
