I started taking photographs as a kid when my dad gave me and old Kodak film camera with leather bellows. I have continued as dedicated practitioner ever since. I been active with photography both film and digital continuously. I hustled portfolios for dancers, musicians and actors in the 70's. I spent lots of time and film trying to take photos in dark clubs and theaters. I had digital cameras early on in the 90's a series of SONY Mavica's even the one that held the tiny CD's, Resolution was low and prints were not the best. About 9 years ago I began to scan and print some of my negatives from the '70's into digital format and I have embraced digital photography wholeheartedly ever since. I joined Flickr then and posted some of those images first, along with some early digital shots using a variety of fairly low resolution cameras.

I reconnected with Flickr in November of 2013. Shortly thereafter I became fascinated with high resolution cameras. In June of 2015 I added a Nikon D810, crisp detailed imagery has become my goal. I discovered that I had become a bit of a camera collector. I love playing with cameras! I have made it my goal to experience as many fine cameras as I can. I have had some fun. I picked up a couple of used Sigma Foveon processor cameras that year, the DP 1 Merrill and DP2 Merrill and SD15. In 2016, I added a Sigma SD1 Merrill to the mix. I enjoyed the high resolution of each one. 2016 brought me a Nikon D750 and a Sony A7 RII. I have sold off my D810 and kept the D750. I committed the fall of 2018 to the Nikon D3x and D3S, the Sony A7RII and DSC RX1 RII, and a handful of Sigma SD and DP models for novelty. In 2019 I have sold the Nikon D3x, Sony A7RII, along with the Sigma SD1 Merrill, Sigma DP1, and DP2 Merrill to acquire a Sony A7RIII, a Leica X-Vario and a Leica D-Lux Typ 109. I still try to experience different cameras from time to time. I am currently shooting a lot with the Leica X-Vario and the A7RIII after having used the D-Lux Typ 109 over the winter. It's fall in NY now, so the shooting is easy. These were my first Leicas so I am enjoying "the Leica look". I got the Foveon look with intense blues and and shadow detail and still have the Sigma SD Quattro H to provide it. Right now I am enjoying the Leicas and becoming a convert; is there an M or Q in my future? I do enjoy the high IQ and smaller .RAW files. I like the Leica images a lot so far. Still working my way around the A7RIII menus and loving the images it produces.

I have had a great time viewing your fabulous photographs on Flickr, shooting in RAW and building my experience with LR and PS. Now I really can can take pictures in the dark with ease except for with the Sigmas.

I have learned a lot and connected with some great people who have provided support, encouragement, and inspiration. Thank you Flickr friends for almost 2 million views!!

I love the color and complexity of landscapes as well as the intimacy of portraits. Since I flee to the mountains weekly I have come to love the dynamic light and wind of living on a mountaintop and the ever changing quality of light in the valleys and waterside. I am always getting out before dawn on weekends to catch the sunrise through the misty mornings of the Catskill Watershed, the Delaware River Valley, the Beaverkill and all the little waterways that make the watershed so important.

I have taken to the Streets of NYC where I live with each of my cameras to great effect. Exploring the possibilities of Panoramas has become a new interest as well. I am also working on my post processing in LR and PS, to add impact to my shots. So masking and B&W processing, printing, matting and framing are all in play. I have begun to show my photos locally to some effect. I had the chance to make some really big prints for our offices 3'x6', 4'x4', and 4'x6' using the A&RIII and they were stunning. So I am hoping to make about six more this fall.

Please enjoy the subjects that make their way into my viewfinders as I navigate my way through the many contexts of my life.
