"No blind spots in the leopard's eyes / Can only help to jeopardize / The lives of lambs / The shepherd cries"

For me, photography is less about capturing a moment and more about the moment capturing me. It's about learning to see the light, the shapes, the forms, and sometimes even the stories...all around, now and then hiding in plain sight, underfoot or otherwise under appreciated.

If I had one goal in photography, it would be to constantly see with new eyes. To see the picture awaiting there between the lines to be drawn out, to be coaxed into a new kind of existence, two-dimensional though it may be. To see without blind spots, and to appreciate what I find there.

Obviously, I also want to tangibly create photos, ones which I will enjoy, and ones which at least a few others will enjoy, and maybe even ones which someone may want to buy and hang up somewhere. I am slowly, painfully slowly, learning the art and science of taking photographs. The tools I'm currently using to do this are:

Canon 40D

Canon 17-85 mm 4.0-5.6 IS Lens

Canon 50 mm 1.4 Prime Lens

Lensbaby Composer

Canon Powershot A-80

I have had one published in a "catalog" put out by the Des Moines Art Center; three of my shots have been used for album covers by the bands Alcian Blue and Ceremony; and I am currently the PR photographer for a local SF gallery called Rayko Photo Center. I hope to add to my photography "resume" soon, and regularly. Look for my portfolio site coming soon: www.dronepop.com

PRINTS ARE AVAILABLE NOW for sale for many of my photographs in several sizes, or as iron-ons for tee shirts. Email me if you are interested!
